On December 15, 2020, I experienced a spontaneous tear of the retina in my left eye.

At the age of 21, after an accident with a knife, I lost all vision in my left eye.

Looking into a mirror and really observing our faces, our eyes, and our prosthetic eyes.

I’ve had about 5 surgeries in the span of 2 years to try and save my left eye

HOWEVER! The point of sharing my story is I WILL NEVER GIVE UP! As many times a day as I want to, I will never.

Ten days and many tests and procedures later, it was determined that I had suffered a retinal occlusion.

Thus, I learned to drive, and live with one eye. Both my balance and depth perception is off, which makes it more difficult.

"I often tell myself that the worst is behind me and that the best is yet to come, and I believe it! Despite everything, I keep smiling."

I did have surgery, which allowed me to keep my eye, but I never regained vision.

Growing up with a blind eye was hard.
