Thus, I learned to drive, and live with one eye. Both my balance and depth perception is off, which makes it more difficult.

Many doctors tried to revive my eyesight, but it was beyond repair and became infected a few years later.

I now face a life-altering change and have basic fears of the unknown. Am I strong enough to endure this? Mentally, will I overcome this?

I did have surgery, which allowed me to keep my eye, but I never regained vision.

As a baby, I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Retinoblastoma.

Once the stitches were removed I could finally see the new full me.

I never fully regained my eyesight and went on to undergo numerous operations and pain relief treatments.

I know they often worried about how having monocular vision impairment would affect me while growing up...

Sunday July 9, 2017 will be a day etched in my mind for the rest of my life. I awoke to find two doctors standing over me.

It is extremely hard for me when people think that I’m not able to do something or deny me access to things like job opportunities...

Growing up with a blind eye was hard.

My eye story started the day I entered the world! This is a long story, but that’s because it has taken my whole life to get to this point.

I was driving my car alone in the evening and had a car crash. The airbag hit my eye so violently that my eye was cut.

I lost my eye at the age of 8 after they tried desperately to save it.

ll my life I’ve had an artificial eye, until 5 years ago when my eye socket collapsed due to the prosthetic being so heavy.

They had confirmed that I indeed had a tumour on the back of my eye. If it didn't get treated soon it could end my life..
